Kerry Ishihara, DDS, Chair
Kerry is a dentist who cared for patients over four decades. He served in active duty for the United States Army and as a United States Army reserve until retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel. He travels extensively for dental missions. He earned his BS and DDS degrees from the University of Washington. Kerry is married to Joni. They are members of Mililani Presbyterian Church in Mililani, Hawaii.
Kaulana Park
Kaulana has forty years of experience in the construction/development industry and financial sector combined. He graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Petroleum Engineering and played on the Cardinal football and baseball teams. He is currently a Vice President of Laulima Hawaii, a 500+ acre master planned development in Kapolei. He has served in church ministries for over twenty years. Kaulana is married to Pastor Dianne of the Foursquare Denomination. They are members of Metro Christian Church in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Guy Shindo
Guy retired as Senior Vice President of the Branch Real Estate Division of First Hawaiian Bank after more than thirty-eight years. He graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BBA and the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington Graduate School of Business. Guy is married to Waynette. They are members of Pearlside Church in Mililani, Hawaii. He served in the production ministry at the Pearlside main campus for many years.
Scott Tan, PhD
Scott is an American Engineer who is a Systematic Trading Quant at Fidelity Investments and a member of Forbes 30 Under 30. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he earned his SM and PhD. He studied Physics at Oxford University and Pomona College where he earned his BA. Scott is married to Ashley. They are members of Life Community Church in Quincy, Massachusetts where he is a worship leader.
Danny Yamashiro, PhD
Danny is a chaplain at MIT, guest lecturer at Harvard, radio podcast host, researcher, and author. He graduated from Harvard University with an ALM in Government and PhD from Trinity International University with work in theology at Oxford University. His BA and MA in Biblical Studies are from Biola University. He is the founder and president of JCCY, Inc. Danny is married to Jamie. They attend Westgate Church in Weston, Massachusetts.
Mission
We exist to make disciples of Jesus by serving the body of Christ (Matthew 28:18-19; Ephesians 4:11-12).
Vision
We envision proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ, assisting in church planting, and facilitating Christ-centered leadership formation.
Values
We value:
- Proclaiming the good news of Christ by every means possible (1 Corinthians 9:19-22) through Media.
- Assisting in church planting (Romans 15:19-20) through Missions.
- Mentorship: Facilitating Christ-centered leadership formation (2 Timothy 2:2) through Mentorship.
These values are applied through the three divisions of JCCY:
- Media: Danny Yamashiro Ministries, founded in 1998 in Honolulu, Hawaii
- Missions: Paradise Global Mission, founded in 2008 in Honolulu, Hawaii
- Mentorship: Formation Institute, founded in 2018 in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Beliefs
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
